Joana Arantes is an Assistant Researcher at the School of Psychology at the University of Minho, a lecturer and an integrated member of the Psychology Research Center. She has a PhD in Experimental Psychology and Cognitive Sciences, and has conducted several research studies at the University of Minho and at the University of Canterbury (New Zealand).
She created and coordinates the Research Group in Evolutionary Psychology from the Research Unit in Human Cognition. Her main aim is to understand close relationships and interpersonal attraction from an evolutionary perspective.
She has published several articles in international journals, and supervised several Master and PhD students. In addition, she has experience as a lecturer and coordinator of different curricular units, both at the graduated and postgraduated level.
