The Master's in Cognitive, Affective and Social Neuroscience is a joint degree programme offered by the University of Minho, the University of Porto and Iscte — University Institute of Lisbon.
The programme provides advanced, interdisciplinary and applied training in cognitive, affective and social neuroscience, integrating contributions from Psychology, Neuroscience, Health Sciences, Biology, Engineering, Data Science and related fields.
The course is structured around an innovative approach inspired by the Research Domain Criteria (RDoC) framework, promoting the integration of psychological processes, functional neuroanatomy, neurodevelopment, genetics, laboratory methodologies, data science, neurotechnology and clinical, scientific and organisational applications.
The programme combines theoretical, practical, laboratory and research components, making use of the human, scientific and laboratory resources of the three partner institutions. The programme operates in person: students attend activities at the campus where they are enrolled and may either participate directly with lecturers or attend synchronous sessions via videoconference from a classroom setting, always with pedagogical guidance and local support.
The programme prepares students for three main development pathways:
- Clinical Neuropsychology, with scientific and applied training focused on neuropsychological assessment and intervention;
- Research in Cognitive, Affective and Social Neuroscience, with a strong laboratory, methodological and data analysis component aimed at pursuing doctoral studies;
- Neurotechnology, focused on applications in neuroergonomics, human–machine interaction, data science, neurotechnologies and organisational or business contexts.
