Welcome to the Psychological Neuroscience Laboratory
The main objective of the PNL is the development of research in the area of human clinical neurosciences. We take advantage of several methodological approaches as autonomic measures (polygraph and biofeedback), EEG/ERP; TMS/tDCS, and neuroimaging and neurobiochemistry in pursuing the neural and physiological correlates of human behaviour. Psychotherapy and Psychopathology

Our global mission is to explore both the key features and both risk and protective factors of psychopathology that are shared by many of the psychological disorders and to translate these findings into clinical applications. Our research program lies on the interplay of psychological clinical science and its applications to the mental health of individuals. Our research focus on identifying and understanding patient, therapist, and relational processes in psychosocial treatments (process research), and on the development, systematization, and integration of efficacious psychotherapeutic interventions to diverse populations (outcome research).

Health, Wellbeing and Performance

This research line addresses the psychological processes involved in health, wellbeing and performance of individuals, families and teams. Specific research themes are: (a) the individual and familiar psychological processes involved in illness, regarding patients, families, caregivers, and vulnerable groups b) the psychological processes involved in health promotion, healthy lifestyles and quality of life in clinical and social contexts (c) the study of the psychological processes associated with performance, success and human development in applied settings, (d) the study of personality factors and individual differences regarding exceptional and successful trajectories in professional and achievement contexts.
