Adriana Sampaio é licenciada e doutorada em Psicologia pela Universidade do Minho em 2006. Tem o Curso de Medicina pelo Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar – Universidade do Porto. É Professora Auxiliar do Departamento de Psicologia Básica da Escola de Psicologia da Universidade do Minho. Atualmente, os seus trabalhos de investigação focam-se no estudo de processos de neurodesenvolvimento, mais concretamente no estudo da influência da genética, cérebro (estrutura e funcionamento) e ambiente nos vários processos cognitivos e emocionais que ocorrem ao longo do desenvolvimento. No âmbito dos seus trabalhos, Adriana Sampaio, publicou vários artigos em revistas internacionais, colaborando com várias equipas de investigação (Espanha, França, Reino Unido, Brasil e EUA). É diretora do Laboratório de Neuropsicofisiologia e tem sido investigadora principal de vários projetos financiados pela FCT e Fundação Bial e foi premiada pelos seus trabalhos na área de investigação em Psicologia.
