The main objective of the Master in Educational Psychology Themes is to enable trainees to deepen topics in the area of Educational Psychology with which they have not had enough contact in their previous training, and which they may consider useful for the understanding of individuals and contexts in which they carry out their activity. It is also hoped that students will acquire an in-depth perspective of models of intervention in educational and learning contexts, based on solid theoretical references, which, in the present case, means guiding their practices through the best available evidence.

To state the centrality of these objectives means that the course is primarily intended for in-service professionals, but also for non-professionals. Still, professionals are the ultimate consignees of the course.

The coherence and unity of the curricular structure of the course is ensured by a curriculum design whose themes are situated in the specific area of Educational Psychology. Having this disciplinary area as a reference and organizing the course structure, curricular units have been designed in order to attract recipients that operate in diverse educational contexts. The course  therefore present some diversity of thematic interests according to the recipients (e. g., psychologists, teachers, health and sports, social educators). The curricular structure of the course thus seeks to reflect both a strong disciplinary coherence and a deliberate thematic diversity.
