The research activity of our group is accomplished through the implementation of four lines of research.

One line of research concerns the general knowledge of the processing mechanisms that favour the creation of stable and lasting memory traces and involves several studies on the production effect (Why do we remember better words that were read aloud than words read silently?).

The second line of research is devoted to the study of the effect of theories and beliefs in memory and metamemory, a cognitive ability that allows us to make judgments about how our memory works (Which are the mechanisms and processes that helps a student to know that he no longer needs to study another subject or content for an exam?).

The third line of research is oriented towards understanding the variables that affect destination memory, that particular kind of memory that allows us to escape the embarrassment of telling the same anecdote or story to the same person.

Finally, the fourth line is dedicated to the understanding of the mechanisms that enhance or protect the occurrence of prospective memory commission errors. In this line of research, we try to understand what we can do to avoid that, for example, an elderly person take the medication twice.
