Is a web application that allows researchers to obtain a broad range of lexical and sublexical measures for European Portuguese words (≈250.000 non-lemmatized and ≈42.000 lemmatized EP words). Based on a corpus of over 200 million words, P-PAL offers a broad range of words’ statistics, including several measures of word frequency, morphological and syntactic information, as well as different orthographic (e.g., number of letters, orthographic uniqueness point, bigrams), phonological (e.g., IPA phonetic transcription, number of phones, biphones), syllable (e.g., orthographic and phonological syllabification), and neighborhood (e.g., substitution, addition, deletion and transposition-letter neighbors) statistics. These statistics can be obtained either by submitting word lists for analysis or by obtaining lists of words that meet a set of word requirements. P-PAL is freely available for research purposes HERE

Following a recent trend in research, SUBTLEX-PT is a lexical database for European Portuguese words obtained from film and television series subtitles (based on a corpus of more than 78 million words) that provides measures of word frequency (e.g., frequency per million, contextual diversity) for approximately 133.000 words (forms). Similar to its international counterparts, SUBTLEX-PT explains more variance of the lexical decision performance of young adults than the P-PAL database. SUBTLEX-PT is freely available for research purposes

Is a children’s lexical database that offers several word frequency measures (e.g., word frequency, index of dispersion across the selected textbooks, contextual diversity) adjusted for different grade levels (from 1st to 6th grade) and computed from a corpus of Elementary and Middle School textbooks of over 3 million words. Is the result of the adaptation into European Portuguese of the Affective Norms for English Words (ANEW; Bradley & Lang, 1999), a standardized dataset of verbal stimuli widely used in the study of emotions. Similar to its original version, ANEW-PT offers normative values of valence, arousal, and dominance for 1,034 Portuguese words based on a large sample of native speakers of Portuguese using the Self-Assessment Manikin (SAM). The normative values are provided both for males and females and for the whole sample, and can be downloaded HERE

Is the result of the adaptation into European Portuguese of the Affective Digitized Sounds (IADS-2; Bradley & Lang, 2007), a standardized dataset of naturally-occurring sounds widely used in the study of emotions. Similar to the original version, IADS2-PT offers normative values of valence, arousal, and dominance for 167 sounds based on a large sample of native speakers of Portuguese using the Self-Assessment Manikin (SAM). Is the result of the adaptation into European Portuguese of the International Affective Picture System (IAPS; Lang, Bradley, & Cuthbert, 2008), a standardized dataset of pictures depicting a wide range of content categories (e.g., animals, natural landscapes, social scenes, erotic scenes or mutilation) and widely used in the study of emotions. Similar to the original version, IAPS-PT offers normative values of valence, arousal, and dominance for 1,182 pictures based on a large sample of native speakers of Portuguese using the Self-Assessment Manikin (SAM). Is a dataset that provides normative values of valence, arousal, and dominance for 192 neutral, positive, and negative declarative sentences that were designed to represent examples of each of the five basic emotions (anger, sadness, disgust, fear, happiness) and of neutral situations. The sentences were rated by a large sample of native speakers of European Portuguese using both a dimensional (SAM) and categorical emotional
measures. The MAS norms can be downloaded

This dataset provides Portuguese normative values for name agreement, concept familiarity, subjective frequency and visual complexity for a new set of 150 colored pictures. The pictures included in this dataset were selected to represent exemplars of the most frequently used semantic categories in research, and also to depict objects which, despite being familiar to the participants, were rarely used in daily life. These characteristics make this dataset particulary suited to conduct Tip-of-the-Tongue (TOT) studies. The norms of can be obtained
